The dishcloth...

Here is the sad story of the early life of a dishcloth. It's life began a few days ago, in the beginning it was very healthy, it had all of it's stitches on each row. But then it's very neglectful mother began to loss some of it's stitches and the poor little dishcloth became more rounded and tapered everyday. And so the mother will be punished by having to rip out the stitches and began again and hopefully the next dishcloth will make it out of infancy and grow to be a very useful in the kitchen. The end.

I hope you have enjoyed the story of our dear dishcloth. Stay tuned I am sure more knitting stories will follow. :)

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Halloween Birthday to my wonderful Dad. I am proud to have you for my Dad, I think you are the best in the world. Thank you for always being their for me and for always believing I could do better than what I thought I could do. I hope you have a very happy birthday and get all the presents you want. I love you very much. Love your Indian Princess.

How to carve a pumpkin.

The "almost" perfect pumpkin

" The brains"
The finished product. Isn't he cute.

I decided to carve a couple of my pumpkins, I thought Payton would enjoy doing it. But she slept right through the whole process. Oh well I had fun doing it anyway, it made me think of when I was little and how Matt and I couldn't wait until Mom said we could carve our pumpkins. Oh to be young again.

All is quiet

Oh how very sad, Mom and Dad left this morning. I was very happy to have them come and visit but time just goes by too fast. We did have a great time together, yesterday Eric was finally feeling some better and went to work. Dad went also and drove the tractor an auger wagon, he loves to do that. Mom and I did some more shopping, not a marathon shopping trip though because I think I am getting what Eric had. YUCK!! Well anyway it was great to have my parents here but now it is time to get my house straighted up again or just lay on the couch. I'm thinking the latter is a better idea. I bough some cotton yarn and am going to try to make a dishcloth. Wish me lots of luck.

What we've been up too.

It has been wonderful having my parents here. It is good to visit with them and it is very nice to have Dad do some work for me. Along with the work he did in the basement he also took out a mushroom shaped table that was in the kitchen. It was weird shaped and took up space. Yesterday Mom and I went to Lowes and I bought an island to put where the mushroom had been, I really like it. We also went to the mall and found some good buys at Christopher & Banks.
Today Dad and Mom went to the Quad Cities to visit with my Grandma Robinson and my Aunt Connie Wize. I was going to go with them but my husband decided it was a good time to get the flu or something like it. Last night he was running a 101.5 degree temp and was shivering so bad it was shaking the couch. So I figured I would be a good wife and stay home and take care of him, I just hope no one else gets it.

Were Busy,Busy!

Work,Work,Work, I never get to play. That is probably how my parents feel, Dad tore out two old cabinets in the basement and put in a utility sink. Thanks Dad, your the greatest. My Mom helped Dad by sweeping up mice nest that were under the cabinets. I am so glad that we got those yucky things out of my house. On top of all that work they had to watch Payton because I had a doctor appointment. Payton had a lot of fun "helping" Tim. Thank you Dad and Mom for your hard work, it really looks nice and I am going to enjoy the sink.

On a brighter note we celebrated Mom's birthday yesterday. So Happy Belated Birthday Mom. Well I guess I'd better go see what other stuff I can find for my Dad to fix.

Raisins,Knitting & everything else.

Well what do you do with raisins? I bet you said eat them. Well that is just one of the things to do with them. Today I walked in and Payton was supposed to be eating a snack (raisins and peanuts)but I caught her putting raisins in her ears. AAAHHH! Before you know it everyone will be wearing raisins in their ears, hey I seen some pretty weird stuff, you never know what the fashions will be in a few months. And just think it will have been a two year old that started this one. HA, HA.

What a fashion statement. Matt said "She just wanted to be closer to the grapevine."

Well I finally figured out how to do the knit stitch. It's not the most beautiful but I am learning. Hopefully I can learn fast enough so I can make something for Eric's cousin Dustin & Jessica Dodd, who are going to have a baby in April. I better go to practicing so I can make something that does not resemble just a tangle of stitches. Well I better go get some more stuff done. Mom & Dad will be here tomorrow and I am so excited.

This is great!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anSpBUxsgAU

What an evening!

Eric is painting our front door, so we just have a blanket over the screen door. Thankfully hardly any rain came in.

Well I guess I have yard work to do now.
My porch is a disaster. The scarecrow is history, newspaper and rain don't mix.
Check out the leaves on the porch wall. That was some wind!

Well after having a very uneventful day cleaning house, we had an interesting evening. As we ate supper I noticed that is was getting quite dark and windy, but I knew Eric had said we could get some rain, so I did not think much of it. We went to get in the car and go to church, we could hear the rain beating on the garage door and a little bit was coming under the door(I am thankful for a "working" garage door). We then got in the car and opened the door, we backed out and were sitting in the drive way, we wind was blowing so hard my little car was shaking, I began telling Eric I didn't think we should go to church(we live about 20 miles from church). We drove to the end of our driveway and could hardly see anything so we backed up and went back in the house. A little later my father in-law came by to check on our house he figured we were at church, they had limbs come through their living room window and wanted to make sure our house was OK. So as you can tell we had an exciting evening, actually it was quite nice we just enjoyed the evening reading and talking. Eric has been so busy with the farm that he has not been home in the evening in a long time, I've been going to bed without him so it was nice to spend some time together. Well I better get off here and get something done around here, guess I have to clean my house off.

What have I been up to?

Well I am back everyone, well I didn't actually go any where I just have not posted in few days. Saturday I went to a craft show, I found Christmas presents for my mother in-law and my sister in-law. That is such a relief, since my mother in-law can be hard to buy for. Can you believe it, I shopped the whole day and only can home with some cinnamon-orange tea bags for myself(for when I curl up and read a book or work on craft projects). I did buy Eric a bag of Kettle corn and he was very happy. Well anyway I guess that's all there is to post right now. I need to go clean my house and do ironing, my parents are coming on Saturday and I need to have everything in order. It really makes my get to work knowing someone is coming(don't won't Mom to see the junk in the closets.)

Great News

Well I have good news. I found Tibby (the cat) this afternoon. I was going to my in-laws and had gotten to the end of our road, I looked in the neighbors yard and there she was. Was I ever happy. I know, I know, I sound really sappy being so happy because of a cat. Oh well I am just glad she didn't get eaten by some animal.
We had a slight scare at noon today. Our Carbon Monoxide detector began going off. So we moved took it to the basement and kitchen to see if it went off there, NO it did not. So I was off to Wal-Mart to buy a new one and find out what it did. The new one did not go off, so I guess the old one was just telling us it was giving up the ghost. I hope that's the only problem.
Tomorrow I am probably going to a craft show in a small town close by. I am hoping to find some Christmas presents, it is fast approaching. I sure wish some of you were here to go with me.

Work,Work,Work.

I like pink but...

Payton cleaning her desk.

The artist at work.

Can you believe it, I forgot to take pictures of my laundry room before I got it all painted. I was so intent on getting it done that I completely spaced it off. Oh well, I did get a picture of one of the shelves, the pink on the shelf is the same color the walls were. Makes you think of Pepto Bismol doesn't it. Well anyway it is coming together nicely and I will post pics when I get it completely finished. All is quiet on the farm right now, Payton is taking a nap. :) Some days I wish she would take more than one nap, but at least she will still take one. Monday we went to Wal-Mart and bought a cute doll with clothes and highchair, I told her if she did not potty in her panties she could play with it and if she did I would put it on the refrigerate until she could be a big girl. Well the next day she did not want to go in the bathroom and so I started to count to three by the time I got to two she was in the bathroom holding her doll and saying "Don't frigerate it." I really hope this trick will work.

I'm still here.

Well hello to everyone. I am still here I have just been busy, painting, laundry, chasing Payton and the list goes on. Not much has happened around here since my last post, except on Saturday I got some closets cleaned out (a big accomplishment), and I had company for dinner on Sunday(Eric was happy). And the biggest thing of all I wrote the Christmas program for my Junior kids, that was a great relief, now all I need are a few songs. I just hope the kids will enjoy doing it. My parents are coming to visit in about two weeks. I can't wait, it is so nice to have parents that are also your friends. I love you Mom & Dad.
This morning Payton was trying to put her stuff on my desk, it's not big enough for her stuff and mine. So I went and got my old desk out of the basement, that my Grandad Norwood made for me, she is enjoying having here own desk.

The store

Here are a couple of pictures of my mother in-laws store. I worked with her tonight, the first Friday of every month most of the stores on the square stay open until 9:30 pm, so I helped her.
These two pictures don't even begin to show you what all there is to see.
Other than working my day has been pretty uneventful. I did keep Payton today so the morning was busy. Yesterday she got in my face and started telling me about "The teaky box in the tree" I finally figured out she was saying"The sneaky fox in the tree" it is quite interesting trying to decipher her words. Well I guess that's enough of my exciting life for one night.

Just a swing'n

You can not tell it by Payton's expression in this picture but she loves to "fwing"on her swing set. Some friends of her parents did not want the set anymore and said we could have it. What a money saver! I wish you all could see her, she IS quite expressive.

Shopped and Dropped

Well today I went to Iowa City and went shopping, all by myself. I wish some of y'all could have joined me, it would have been alot more enjoyable. Anyway I went to Iowa City which is about an hour away, I found some shirts for Eric and also a few things for myself and a birthday present for my sister in-law. After I got home this evening Eric, Merlin and I went to church for work night, they are painting the rent house the church owns. I mostly just supervised and made sure everybody else got their work done. Just Kidding!
I am very sad right now my tiger stripped kitten (Tibby)had been missing for two days now. I was getting pretty attached to the two kitten and then one up and disappears. I told Eric that I prayed she would come back and he laughed and asked if I thought God would just drop her on the front porch. Well He could if He wanted too. :)
By the way my laundry room is coming along nicely. I'll post pictures when I get it finished.

My Busy Days

Well let's see what has happened since I posted last. Saturday was a very nice day, so I did some mowing at my in-laws, I'm ready for mowing season to be over, and I washed my front outside windows. And then I decided to start painting my laundry room, our basement has not been a big priority and so not much has been done to it. Well anyway the yucky pink walls were driving me crazy, so I started painting, it is going to look nice when I get it all done.
Yesterday I took Payton to story time at the library and we had a good time, except for a little boy that kept picking on her. Oh well I guess that's what happens when you get a bunch of two and three year old's together. Payton tore the cover off one of my old books(already about to fall off)and when I found her I said Oh Payton and was going to scold her, she looked at me and said you disappointed? It is so hard to discipline when she does things like that. Well I guess that's about all I have to tell you for now, life on the farm is not very exciting right now.
