Shopping again...

Well here I am again to tell you about yet another shopping trip with my Mother in-law. I love her to death but when she shops she spends all day. Anyway yesterday we drove to Monmouth Illinois to pick up some pottery that she carries in the store. So while we were there we just made a day of it and did some shopping too and had a great lunch at a "new-old" soda shop, that was very nice. I did come home with some things, my favorite was this Vera Bradley Cookbook, it has some very yummy looking recipes and lots of neat pictures.

Maybe I should have a ladies get together and invite all my blogging friends and try some of these recipes.
Well I guess that is about all that is going on here, except that we got another inch of rain this morning but Eric was able to plant yesterday. I think almost all the corn is in but no beans as of yet, the way it keeps raining I think they should just plant rice.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I have to work at Kim's tomorrow and help get some ordering done, should be a pretty fun day.

All American Girl

Here are a couple photos of baby Jordynn, she is a cute little girl and is very good most of the time. But as you can tell in the picture she did not like her bath. We sure enjoyed having her here for a few days and her Mommy and Daddy too.

When they got here Friday night Dustin gave her to Eric, who of course acted like he had never held a baby before.(it's good practice) But as you can see from the contented look on her face he has a pretty comfortable chest.(I'll agree with her)
Well I hope all of you had a good Memorial Day, we went to our church picnic and then this evening we are having supper with Merlin and Kim. We have had a very good day so far. Hope you are having fun Mom and Dad. Take lots of pictures and find me a good souvenir. Aye Aye Captain.

Getting ready for the weekend...

Sorry there have not been any exciting post this week. I have been sick with a really bad cold all week and you know how it is when you don't feel good. I am getting better now and getting the house cleaned up because we are having company this weekend. Dustin, Jessica and baby Jordynn are coming to see up. I am very happy, I will get to spoil her rotten. The weather(rain again) around here does not seem to know that this is a holiday weekend and I need to mow the yard this evening, so we can have a "family" picnic Sunday noon.

Before I close I'd better throw in something about Payton, what good would this post be if I left her out. Well anyway yesterday she was sitting on my lap, I told her she needed to get up cause I need to do some housework, she then looked at me and said "Your house is a mess...Your Fired!" So I guess I really don't have to clean the house after all the boss had spoken.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and remembers the ones who have died to give us this freedom.

OK who was it?

Just who did not pray hard enough? We had some rain last night but just enough to keep them out of the fields this morning, they should be able to be back in this afternoon. Thank You for your prayers, I am sure that is what kept the rain from really coming down because it was looking like it was going to be a doozy of a storm.

Out here in the field...

Here is some pictures of Eric planting corn. He will be very happy to know I am posting tractor pictures. The guys were able to get in the field Saturday and Today and we were hoping the rest of the week would stay dry so they could get a lot more work done. But unfortunately the wind had picked up and it is lightning and thundering, we really don't need more rain, we are already very behind in our planting. Please help pray that the rain will stay away for the next couple of weeks.
Here is a view from my seat in the tractor. Sometimes it can be a very bumpy ride.
And last but not least Payton sitting on her stool eating Goldfish. She loves to ride with Eric and it is even better when he let's her "drive."
Come visit us everyone we would love to show you the farm and who knows Payton might even let you sit on her stool in the tractor.

Nothing going on...

Well I thought I would let everyone one that we are still alive in Iowa. I have been busy working in the yard and playing with Payton. Yesterday I got the yard mowed and Eric did the trimming so our yard looks good for another week. Right now it is about 80 degrees and there is a breeze blowing, I think I will go lay in the hammock, since my husband is planting corn and I don't have much else to do. I just be lazy. Well I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Around the house...

Free finger painting lessons. Isn't this a work of art? It started out being red, blue, green and yellow but soon became one dark color. Payton had a good time painting a "dinosaur" and then her face. Good thing it is washable.
We can't wait for some nice warm weather. I got Payton this swimsuit at a resale shop the other day, it was just too cute to pass up. She tried it on and then wanted to go get in the swimming "cool." Well I am sure it will warm up soon enough and then we will be wanting cooler weather.

Mother's Day Project

I made a picture frame for Payton's mom, it turned out really cute. And of course she loved it.

I also made a magnet for her Grammy. This was something new, I might have to try my hand at making another one sometime.

Scrapbooking...

Well I finally got inspired to start scrapbooking again. Here are a few of the pages that I have done in the last week.
These are all pictures from 2006 or before but I had idea's for these
pages so I thought I'd better do them.

This page turned out perfect. If you click on it you can see the detail

better.

These pictures are not the best, they are from 1992. What can you expect, a kid with a camera.

Our day...

I would like you to meet Mr. Jelly Belly. My mother in-law gave him to Payton and now she calls him "big guy." Today she put him in her chair and then covered him up, later she came by and the blanket was on the floor, she told him "don't kick your covers off." Oh the things she says.
Yesterday the guys were able to get in the field. Eric planted corn all day yesterday, he did not get home until 1:30 am. They were able to work again today but rain is in the forecast for tonight and probably the rest of the week.
Payton and I went and rode with Eric awhile, we told her he was planting corn so when we got our of the tractor she looked around and asked "where's the corn." I guess she thought they were planting so really fast growing corn. Well that is all that has been going on here except for some scrapbooking and planting flowers. Hope this finds everyone in blogging world doing good.

Photo shoot

I decided to have some fun the other day, so I took Payton outside for a few pictures. I put a little dress on her and put a big bow in her hair, what a doll. Anyway here are a few of the pictures I took, it is hard to get her to smile for the camera without making a big Cheesy grin.
I just love this one, she was "reading" the book out loud. She had to finish the book before I could pose her another way.
What are you thinking sweet little one?
This flower "pells" good. Her was of saying smell.
Picking some "pretty" flowers.
No smile but I thought it was a cute shot anyway.
I think I will try to make something for her mom for Mother's Day with some of the pictures.
Well hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Tiptoe through the Tulips

Well yesterday found Eric and I in Pella, Iowa at Tulip Time. Pella is a Dutch settlement and is know for their tulips. We had a great time seeing all the beautiful tulips and touring a windmill. The parade is probably the best part of the day, it lasts for over an hour. Well I will just let the pictures tell the story. Click on the Orange Tulips to see more.
