Day 20 ~  Friday night we opened stocking...Piper seems to like what she is opening.

Day 21 ~ Saturday we traveled from Iowa to Arkansas to be with my Grandmother and family for the weekend...sleeping really does make the trip go faster.
Day 22 ~ Sunday I was able to spend time with my a few of my cousins...Christie and are just six months apart( we have another cousin Keren who is six months older then me),  getting to spend time with any of them is special.
Here is Piper and my cousin Christie's little guy Tyler,  theses two are only a month apart.

Capturing December ~ Day 19

I have enjoyed the tree in the nursery this year (don't know if the twins really do),  it is on top of their armoire ...safe from little hands.    I decorated it with several baby's first Christmas ornaments and the ornaments I got them this year.   The little hat on the top was given to one of them in the nicu on the day they were born,  it has matching booties.   The photo frames say "Baby's First Christmas"  and hold the first photo's taken of them.    So tiny!

Capturing December ~ Day 18

Christmas with Nana and Grandpa before we head South.    The twins loved it!
And so did the big sister.   As you can tell by the look on her face...she finally got a Sleeping Beauty dress.

Capturing December ~ Day 16

Need any wrapping done...these Elves are always eager to help.  They like unrolling ribbon and tearing tissue paper best.   And the big sister Elf likes to use lots and lots of tape.   :)

Capturing December ~ Day 15

Here is quick peek at the kiddo's in their Christmas finery.   We will not be home next Sunday and so I dressed them in their coordinating outfits.    Gotta love the pic of Blake with drool on his chin.  :)
Miss Brenna is quite the ham and loves to have her pic taken.
And Miss Piper is growing up way too quickly...Please stop!

Capturing December ~ Day's 14

Saturday we visited the University of Iowa Hospital (where the twins were born and stayed in NICU).   At the twins birthday party we had recently we asked the guest to not bring a gift, instead bring a new children's book to be donated to the hospital library.  During our stay we visited the library and Piper was given a book and also picked one to take for the twins.   We were so grateful for all the wonderful care we received during our stay we decided to start a new tradition and do something for the hospital/NICU every Christmas.
We also bought gift cards from the hospital coffee shop(kinda of like Starbucks) and gave them to the head nurse in the NICU,  to give them out as she sees need.   We received some on Christmas day from some family who had been there before also,  it was a special gift.    We hope to teach our children about giving to others and not just about receiving.
In the photo's the above we are on the skywalk looking at the construction of the new children's hospital.

Capturing December ~ Day 13

It began snowing this evening before we went to our church Christmas dinner and Uncle Tom cleared a path for me to get to the car.   How sweet :)
The picture does not do this scene justice...snow, Christmas lights, tree in the window and a flag.   It was beautiful.

Capturing December ~ Day 12

Here is our Christmas tree this year...kinda small.   We decided to go with a table top tree for sanity sake this year and I am so glad we did.   I am not usually the type to "baby proof" (put away breakable items), we usually just teach our children not to touch.   But since we have two littles it makes it very hard to keep up with both of them and I can not always see them if I am in the kitchen or other parts of the house, a table top tree made perfect sense.   We still get to enjoy the tree but with less stress on Mommy and Daddy.

Capturing December ~ Day 11

Lucas was holding this sign and a red face paint crayon when Piper found him this morning.   What did he do to her last night?

Capturing December ~ Day 10

Tuesday night we hosted a "Happy Birthday Jesus" party for our Bible Club children.   We had a good time and pray we are getting the message of the real meaning of Christmas across to these children.

Capturing December ~ Day's 8 & 9

Aren't these two just the cutest in their plaid pj's   They were enjoying a snack on the kitchen floor while Mommy and Daddy made some treats to take to a church potluck.
We got a little snow on Sunday and so Miss Piper had to go out and play in it this morning.  She did not stay out long,  it was 13 degrees at the time.   Brrr!

Capturing December Day 4 & 5

Day 4 ~ Piper is enjoying this "Happy Birthday Jesus" ornament, it can be set to count down until Christmas and when you push a button it plays "Happy Birthday to Jesus."
Day 5 ~ Miss Piper enjoyed her cup of hot chocolate on this cold, blustery day.  Sprinkles and whipped cream make cocoa so much better.

Capturing December ~ Day 3

Trying to get some of my wrapping done this evening...my closet is way too small to hide gifts.
Piper wrapped a present to Mommy and wrote on the tag all by herself...so sweet.

Capturing December ~ Day 2

Today we spent the morning in Omaha doing a little shopping.  Eric captured this neat shot of an old building downtown.   We had a very enjoyable time but we were ready to come home and hug and kiss out kiddos.   And they were very happy to see Mommy and Daddy.

Capturing December~Day 1

Well it is that time of year...time for the daily photo's leading up to Christmas.    I will try my best to get photo's up on the right day,  but I am not making any promises.
This weekend Eric and I are on a little getaway celebrating out 9th anniversary,  can you believe we have been married that long?     We are enjoying our time away.
Here we are today...Love this man so much.    December 2013

A Bit Of Randomness

The boy is so proud of himself...he is taking steps by himself and can walk only holding on of Mommy's hands.
I got a bag of presents out to wrap and Miss Brenna found her doll before I got it wrapped...she loves it!
Need a dishwasher?   Piper thought she would help me wash dishes one Sunday.    I think the gloves might hinder the process.

First Snow!

Blake & Brenna were not overly impressed with the first snow of the season.   I am sure by next year their big sister will have them convinced it is wonderful.
