Merry Christmas Eve!

Santa came to visit Saturday evening. I got to sit on his lap and tell him what I wanted for Christmas. Most of the Robinson family (the ones that were not sick) came over that night , we ate and play the White elephant game. It was a lot of fun and it was great to be with my family.
Sunday we had a good service at church and heard some of the songs from their Christmas program, that was a real treat. After church Sunday night Uncle Greg, Aunt Sue and their kids came over and we had more food and fellowship. I think I will weigh ten pounds more by the time I leave here. It seems like everything we do involves food.
This morning we went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel. (eating again) Then we bought one last gift Mom needed to get and now we are just hanging out here at home and getting some more food ready for tomorrow. I hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas Eve.

This is my cousin Sarah-Ann hugging Santa, it took quite a bit of persuading to get here to do it. She was not overly fond of him. I sure am! :)

Were here...

Well we arrived in Shreveport yesterday afternoon. It was quite different going from temperatures in the 30's to in the 60's but that's OK at least I am home. We had a great time staying with the Boardman bunch. Thanks for letting us stay with you Heidi, we will have to come when we can stay longer.
Last night we went to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, that was Matt's Christmas gift to us. We had a great time, Thanks little brother.
Well I better get off here and get ready, the whole Robinson clan is coming over tonight, I can't wait.

Payton's Christmas

We gave Payton a tent and a sleeping bag for Christmas. She loved
both of them. I got a cute brown sweater from her. Payton really
liked the sleeping bag, she wanted to "honk shoo" snore when she
laid on it. She does the cutest things, I with she would stay this
age just a little longer.

Christmas with the Millers

Last night we had Christmas with Eric's parents, we had a good
time and got lots of good presents. It is fun to have two families
to have Christmas with so you get to open gifts and be with family
twice. We receive a couch and love seat from Mom and Dad
Miller, which I already told you about. And I got two more
longaberger baskets. Yeah!
Mom laughing about something, as always.
Dad very seriously opening a Cathedrals and Greater Vision Cd's.
Isn't she cute, I named here Flopsy.
Eric got a Santa Suit. Ho Ho Ho!
And last but not least I got a goat pillow from Grandad and Granny Miller.
To explain why, I have always wanted a pet goat but Eric says they are
just a pain. So I guess I will just have to settle for a pillow.
Well I better get off here and get some packing done. We are leaving
tomorrow and going to the Boardmans and spend the night, then Friday
morning we are going on to Shreveport. So I have much to do! I hope
to post when I am in LA but who knows.

Christmas Program

Well here I am as Grandma. Last night was our Christmas program and it went very well
the children did all of their parts perfect. Grandma forgot to say a line but no one knew.
How do you like my "powder gray" hair and the glasses on my nose?

Here I am with my "grandchildren", we are singing
"Come on Ring Those Bells". Then I began telling them the
Christmas story and we went back in time to the stable.

Here are all the children acting out their parts.

We all sang a song at the end, "Happy Birthday Jesus, I'll open this one just for you" and

"We Wish You a Merry Christmas." It ended up being a very good Christmas program.

Church Dinner and Everything else...

Last night was our church dinner. A good time was had and lots of food was eaten. This morning just after I got up it began snowing and it is still coming down. What a nice day to just snuggle up in a chair, knit and listen to Christmas music. I wish I could but I have a million and one things to do. We went to a birthday party for our cousin Charlin who turned 6 yesterday. Sorry no pictures the camera was dead. Well anyway I guess I better get to my chores. Here are a couple of pictures from last night. This is the Miller kids opening their gifts. Little
Benjamin was trying to help his brother Duane. The church gave them a gas grill. It was the first one they have had, and they thought it was wonderful.

Whine,Whine, Whine...

That is what I heard all morning. Payton was sick and didn't want to do anything but whine and fuss. I finally got her interested in "wrapping presents", I got mine all wrapped. :) Well, need to go straighten up my house and fold laundry before we go to our church Christmas dinner tonight. I made a Lemon Jello cake and Green bean casserole, I sure hope it all gets eaten. We are going to play the White Elephant gift game, that should be fun. If I come home with some "good" stuff I will bring it for your game Mom. By the way practice went very well the kids are doing so good.

Grandma is getting ready...

Come one, come all and see me be a Grandma in our Christmas program. We are having our final practice tonight, I hope I can remember my lines. The children are doing really well with their parts but "Grandma" is having a hard time remembering what to say. Well I guess I'd better go memorize some more. I will take some pictures of practice tonight and Eric will man the camera Sunday night. Hope some will turn out.

Creativity running wild...

Well I have had fun the past few days. Decorating clear balls to give as gifts. I used scrapbooking rub-on's and put different stuff inside each one. Very simple but fun. Of course the one that says "shopping" will have to say with me.

I also tried my hand at the ornaments like my friend Chari made. You can find out more about them here. http://charitree.blogspot.com/ They were very fun to make and very easy.

Cheese snowman...

Well we had a busy but fun weekend. Saturday evening we went to a
live animal Christmas play. It was very good, all the animals were
on there very best behavior. On Sunday there was a mist in the
air all day, so that made everything pretty slick. We started out
for church in the car, got to the corner and decided we better take
the truck. But we made it to church OK. Sunday night the BMI
choir was at our church. They did a very nice job. After the service
we all gathered for food. I made this snowman cheese ball. Everyone
thought he was so cute and some did not want to mess him up but in
the end most of it was gone.

The snow "cheese" balls have been rolled.
And now he is dressed.
Ta-Da, Here is the finished product.

Sledding,Practice & Purple Ribbons...

Come go sledding with me. Eric tried to make a snowman
yesterday but the snow would not pack. So he scraped the
drive way while I sledded down our back hill. I had fun but
it would have been better if some of you were here to join me.
Last night we had our first "acting" Christmas program practice.
The kid's did very well, despite the fact that our Joseph was not
there. And me "Grandma" went blank and could not remember my
lines for a song. Oh well, I guess I am just getting old and cannot
memorize as well anymore.

After I got home from practice we went to town to look at
the gingerbread houses. They gave out awards last night and
mine got a Honorable Mention. I thought that was good since
it was my first time.
Well I need to get off here and get something done in my house, its
a mess. :) This evening we are going to a live animal play. Everyone says
it is really great. I sure hope so.

It's a beautiful morning!

I woke up this morning to a beautiful white world. We
received about 3 or 4 inches of snow, yesterday afternoon
and evening. I think Eric and I may build a snowman
this afternoon. I don't remember ever building one.

"Tiger" the snow kitten.

Aren't these evergreen tree's so pretty. Now all

they need is a red bird sitting in them.

Winter Wonderland

Well we are getting the first real snow fall of the season. It began snowing around 2:15-2:30 pm. And it is now 4:46 pm and still coming down. I just love to watch the pretty white flakes float softly to the ground and make cover the ugly brown earth with a pretty white blanket.
It's beginning to snow. 2:20 pm
It's still coming down. 4:00 pm
Payton going to check on the Kitty's.
Yummy, the taste of new fallen snow.
This is the first snow fall that Payton has seen. (she of course doesn't remember last year) When she got up from her nap it was snowing and with in a few minutes she was wide awake and wanting to go outside. She was so cute running around outside and hollering "It's toeing."
Well I sure wish everyone could visit me, have a cup of cocoa and watch the snow fall.

Busted lips and Paper cuts...

Strawberry Shortcake band-aides will make everything feel better. While reading a book Payton got a paper cut on the end of her finger. You would have thought it was the end of the world until I suggested a band-aide and then it was all right. Not ten minutes after the finger tragedy she fell against the bathroom door and cut her lip open. She was then wanting a Dora band-aide but I convinced her to just put a paper towel on it, and then everything was just dandy again. She was then ready for me to take a picture of the owies. By the way it had just begun to snow and we are expecting to get about 4 inches. Let it snow, Let it snow.

Comfy New Chair

Santa has already come to my house and brought me a new denim chair an Ottoman. Eric & I are getting the chair and a love seat from his parents for Christmas. The chair was delivered yesterday and we will pick up the love seat tonight. This furniture is for our basement, we are hoping to get sheet rock up on the ceiling and carpet on the floor before long, so it will be a nice den/playroom. Payton liked the Ottoman, she informed me that it was her bed and she wanted to take her nap on it. She had to get in the bed to take a nap but she did get to sit on it and read her books. I woke up this morning to snow falling, it was so pretty but alas it did not last long and did not stick. I cannot wait until we get a good snow fall.

A Christmas Greeting

Here is a cheesy Christmas greeting from Payton. She was modeling the hat and scarf for me. After I took her picture she looked at me and said "That was pretty good cheese'n." More greeting to follow.

Baby it's cold outside...

What a yucky day. We had ice and rain off and on all day. The only time I went out of the house was to take some pictures of the ice. Eric had fun going to work this morning, he called me to tell me how fun it was sliding around on the highway. And at lunch he rode his four wheeler for awhile. I took some pics of him, but they were not good, he was going to fast. :) Well anyway I got most of my sewing done for my quilting class. And it has been very nice just being lazy today. And my sweet husband is going to take me out to supper. I guess it had been a good day after all.

This is the greenery on my porch railing.
