Our Little One

Here are new ultrasound pictures and video of the baby. They said everything was looking great and the due date is still the first week of February. Little one is about half a pound and seven inches long and quite the wiggly little thing. When they started the ultrasound baby was face up but I guess it wanted to be silly so it turned over and that is the reason for the funny video.

The Log Village 1856

Here are some pictures of some of the things at the Log Village. I had a great time pretending to be a pioneer, I mostly helped prepare food for all the Log Village volunteers. We cook all sorts of things, Peach cobbler, Apple crisp, Fresh Green beans, Corn Pudding, Ham and the list goes on. All of that was not cooked for one meal but we did have to make a lot, yesterday for lunch we served about 65 people not including the 21 children for the schoolhouse, they get a basket lunch. I also met many new people and over all just had a great time. If you have any questions about any of the pictures just ask. Click on the picture to see more.

Making Applesauce

Yesterday I made some wonderful homemade applesauce. I have pictures of most of the steps it takes to make it so I will let them tell the story.
1. Picking the apples, the wagon makes the job more fun.
2. Slicing the apples. Thanks for this handy gadget Mom!
3. Fill the bowl with apples add sugar and cinnamon
and then put in the microwave until very tender.

4. This is the "fun" part, running the cooked apples through the food mill.
5. And finally the finished product, ready to go to the freezer.
It is hard work but when all it cost is time and a bag of sugar it sure beats buying the stuff.

I still have one more bucket of apples in the fridge that have to be done but this little Mommy was to tired to do anymore last night. Come visit me sometime this fall and I will share some of the applesauce with you.

Photo update

Here are a few photos of the last few days. Not much has been going on except watching the kids. I do not have them tomorrow so I will be spending the day making and canning applesauce. It is wonderful to have on hand to eat but not that wonderful to spend all day making.
Here is my 16 week picture. I am getting a little bigger. Payton is very worried
because our baby does not have a name. She has been coming up with some interesting ones.

The kids and I went on a little walk today. I thought pulling the wagon for a little while would be great exercise but it ended up that Payton wanted to pull it and she did most of the walk.

I have been wanting to try my hand at taking some good pictures of the kids so I will be better prepared when I have my own. Well this is one of the "best" ones I got of Keegan. Needless to say he was not in the mood.

Growing up

Happy Birthday to my little Payton. Payton turned three today, it is hard to believe that I started babysitting her when she was just two months old. My how she has changed. I baked her a cake today and she had a lot of fun blowing out the candles and eating the "candy" on top.
One, Two, Three blow!
This is how Keegan spent his time during our celebration. What a party pooper.
Saturday we are going to Payton's birthday party and we will give her our present then.
She did not even ask for a present today, the cake was enough.

Monday night she spent the night with us, that was a first. She asked Eric is he would "bring her out for pizza" and of course he did.

My Kiddo's

I began babysitting again this week. What fun! Actually it has not been that bad except that I have not been getting to take "my naps." Yesterday we went to the shop and Payton got to play on the tractors and with her "Ericy", Mr. Keegan snoozing in his stroller.

Here is my big helper shucking some corn, what a mess she made. Well I don't have anymore news for you today, what an exciting life I lead. I am off now to try and redecorate my kitchen will try to post pictures of the effort later.

Thank You

Thank You to everyone who prayed for our friend Midge. The surgery was a success and the Doctors found no other masses, and they do not feel like she is going to need chemo. I thank the Lord for this wonderful news. Please continue to pray for her as she recovers and for my Mom who spends alot of her time caring for her.
Another news tidbit to brighten you day is that I was able to hear the baby's heartbeat today. That is so exciting, it make it all seem real. The Doctor said everything was looking good, except that I have lost 2 pounds instead of gaining. At this point I am not concerned because I have been eating good and have not been sick. I am just glad I have not gained lot's of weight already.
