We received a package from heaven about 10:31am on Tuesday, January 27, 2009. The package weighed 7 pounds and 3 ounces and was 20 3/4 inches long. It is wrapped in pink and topped with a tuft of reddish blond hair. It was sent to Eric and Melissa and Miller and the tag said my name is Piper Jaylin Miller, please take good care of me. It was signed by God and His angels.

This could be the day...

Well we are headed to the hospital, I hope the baby comes today and they don't send us home. I have been having stomach pain and very bad back pain all night and some bleeding today, so they told me to come in. Maybe the next time I post we will have a little one in our arms. Keep us in your prayers. Love, Melissa

Like Mommy like baby...

My in-laws just got back from a trip to Dallas and they brought this onesie for the baby. They could not have found one any better because Mommy loves Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I can't wait for it to be able to wear it. Thanks Mom & Dad Miller for the shirt.

Baby's Cradle...

Baby now has a cradle to sleep in, I know you all were getting worried that baby only had a crib in which to take it's many snoozes. My Mimi Norwood is letting us use the cradle, it has been in her family for many years. Mimi was rocked in the cradle when she was a baby and she thinks it maybe 120-130 years old. If only it could talk, the stories it could tell.
Daddy putting it together, here he is trying to do it by hand, after while he got out the power tools. Thanks Honey, for getting together. We were planning on putting it in our room but once it was put together we saw how big it was and now I believe it will have to go in a corner of the living room. Well that's all the updates for now, I go to the Dr. on Thursday, hopefully they will have good news for us. Until then have a great day.

Beka's apron...my finished object

Well my finished object is another Christmas present. I made this LSU apron for Matt's girlfriend Beka, she loved it.
Payton was pleased to be my model, she thought it was for her. I made the ties and binding out of contrasting fabric. I thought it turned out so cute, I really wanted to keep it for myself.

Baby's Nursery

Welcome to my room, sure wish you could come visit my mommy and see the room in person. Mommy has been working hard to get everything all ready for my arrival and now she is hoping I will hurry up and get here so I can use my cute room. I sure hope you enjoy your tour.

1. Walk in the door look right and you see the closet, my laundry basket, car seat and other things to take to the hospital.
2. Continue around to the left and you see my comfy bed. Thank You Marci for letting us buy it from you, Mommy really likes it. My comforter is yellow, green and blue plaid, it has bunnies, houses and even a tractor on it. My Dad really likes that part. My Grandma Robinson helped Mommy put the words on the wall, Thank You Grandma(or whatever you are going to be called.) Wall Word: Baby the beginning of all things...Wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.

3. This picture is the view from the doorway. Sorry it is out of order.

4. Next you see the table with the lamp, books and Isabel Bloom "Mother Goose" statue. And my rocking chair with Granny's quilt and a blanket my Mommy's cousin Lisa Jarratt crocheted.

5. And finally the changing table, where you want find my Daddy very often. SMILE! My diaper bag is all packed and Mommy's bags are ready too. Now if I could just make the next few weeks fly by for Mommy. Thank you everyone for stopping by to see my room, hope you enjoyed the tour.

I love kids...

Yesterday was kind of a sad day for me, it was the last day I kept the kids until sometime after the baby is born. It is amazing how much you can love someone else's kids. I decided to quit keeping them a few weeks before the baby is due because I have projects I would like to get done around the house before our fun life begins and who knows I might surprise everyone and go early. (I really doubt it!!!)
It snowed yesterday and the kids and I had a great time watching it fall... huge beautiful flakes.

Buzz(Dennis), Crystal and Autumn Gilchrist came down this last weekend for my baby shower, the spent Friday night and most of Saturday with us. We had a great time catching up, playing games and playing with Autumn, what a sweetheart. The guys went four-wheeling too, it snowed Friday night, so they had a lot of fun.

Some of the pretty snow we got yesterday, we are supposed to get more tonight. Anywhere from 3 to 5 inches. Anyone want to build a snowman?

A baby tummy makes a great pillow. Keegan was very sleepy yesterday after lunch but did not want to miss out on watching Eric and Payton play, so he found a good pillow and watched the action for the mountain top. Well I guess that is an update on the happenings around our house, tomorrow I am going to try to post nursery photo's. But I need to finish putting all the shower gifts away first, it is a little bit messy in there.

My Baby Shower...

I had a wonderful baby shower on Friday night. The weather (we thought it was going to ice again) was great and lots of ladies came. I got so many great things, only three have to be returned. Sorry these pictures are out of order but I was trying to upload them while holding Keegan and keeping him from hitting the keyboard.
Merlin and Kim gave us this stroller and carseat set. Now we can bring baby home from the hospital.
Payton helped me open my presents, she thought everything was for her.

Eric's Granny Miller made this quilt for baby. I love it and can't wait to use it for baby.

Crystal Gilchrist and Kyla Wize came down from the Quad Cities, it was so much fun to have them come. Shawna also came and brought Payton and Keegan.

The pile of presents before I opened them. Like I said I got lots of stuff.

Me and my little Payton.

Mommy and baby with our yummy Strawberry and Cream cake.

36 Week and counting...

Here is a 36 week picture of the Mommy to-be. This is a little better picture than the one in my robe. My Dad did not care for that one so this is for him. Is it better Dad? I had a great time at my baby shower Friday night and will be posting pictures soon. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Fluffy Robes and Fat Feet...

Here is an update on the fat lady. I am now 36+ weeks along and getting more anxious to meet our baby. Eric got me this nice fuzzy robe for Christmas, I just love it but I thought it made me look extra big. And thus the reason for the picture. I got to the Dr. tomorrow and am hoping something has changed, even a little change would make me happy.
And onto another beautiful picture, my Fat feet. I have been having some swelling in my legs and feet, so no more cute shoes for me. I went to Wal-Mart and bought some fleece lined crocks, they are not the most fashionable shoes but they don't squeeze my feet and they are warm. I am hoping to get a better picture of the baby tummy today and I will try to get it posted so you can see just how big baby(I) am getting.

Around our house...

Well not much exciting has been going on around our house except that Eric got a nasty cold and I got the stomach flu. I was very thankful it only lasted a day, I was one sick girl. On to better topics, we had Christmas with Eric's parents, sister and brother in-law Friday night, we had a good time and came home with lots of presents. Not much is going on this week except the church is holding a baby shower for me on Friday night, I will try to get someone to take pictures for me and get them posted as soon as possible. Friday when I went to my Dr. appointment he said I had a lot of work to do before the baby came, I was not to happy to hear that. I wanted to hear that things were moving right along, oh well I guess I still have four week until my due date. What's the rush? Well just wanted to let everyone know that I am still alive, I just have not felt like posting much lately. Until next time!!!

Finished Object Friday

Here is one of the Christmas presents that I could not post about. I made this photo collage for my Mom, for her many photo's of the baby. It was a lot of fun to work on and so easy, Thanks for the idea Brittany. Sorry the picture has a glare, I am not the greatest photographer. Hope everyone has a great weekend and thanks for stopping by to see my finished object.
