Our weekend

We had a great weekend. My Uncle Alvie and Aunt Carol Jarrett were filling in at our church and they brought my Grandma Robinson with them. I was able to have them over for dinner on Sunday and we had a wonderful time visiting with them. My Grandma just loved the kittens, which by the the way are now a week old. They are getting roly-poly and their eyes look like they will be opening anytime now. I just love this picture of my Grandma's hands holding a kitten. The kitten was meowing and Grandma was giggling, I will enjoy this picture for a long time.
This picture makes me look so fat, I better get to Curves quick. :) Well I guess that's about all of our weekend, hope everyone is doing well and has a good Monday.

Outdoor work

Well I finally got my birthday present from my husband. He kept telling me that I was really going to like it but the store did not have them in yet. Yesterday I finally got him to tell me what is was a garden cart, well I went right to town and the store had one in so needless to say I bought it. I also went and bought flowers and came right home and put the cart to work. I am really going to love having this handy thing around, Thank you Eric, I love you.
Here are some of the flowers I planted. I am so glad that it is nice weather, I can finally get some much needed yard work done. Like mow the grass this week. :)

Birthday and Kittens

Well I am a day late on my post but I guess it is better late then never. So anyway Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband. We had his parents over for lunch yesterday and the day was beautiful so we grilled steaks and had a great lunch. He even had strawberry pie and cheesecake, his two favorite things.
This is what I got him for his birthday. Not really but our Tiger cat had four kittens while we were gone to church. They are so tiny, and look like little rats. Anyone want a kitten?
Also Dustin and Jessica had their baby on Thursday. Her name in Jordan Maci. I will try to get a picture of her sometime. Mom and baby are doing good, Dad, well that's another story.

Sunny Days

The last couple of days have been sunny and warmer but very windy. But Payton and I ventured out anyway, I was tired of keeping her in the house.

Here she is posing with my Giraffe "Jeffy." About every week she plays with a different animal and oh the imagination she is developing.
Yesterday we took a walk to the shop, it is about 2 miles away(boy are my legs telling me about it this morning.) She loves to help Eric work.
All dressed up in rubber boots and Melissa's sunglasses what more could you want. Well so much for our nice weather it is supposed to start raining tonight and go on the next couple of days, this does not make the farmers very happy.

My shabby chic room

Well we now have a very nice guest room, if any of you would like to come a visit. I just love the way it turned out, thanks Mom for finding the quilt and pillows. I think this room will become my new retreat, the soft colors and shabby chic style are so relaxing and comforting. Here is a view of the bed, I don't know if I care for the bookcase here but it will have to do for now.
It is kinda hard to see the teacup on the shelf but it has little pink roses on it and matches so good.
This picture is of my Grandpa and Grandma Robinson when she was expecting my dad. Do you like the flower arrangement Chari? Thanks for the flower holder, I really like it.
Don't you just love the plate? My Mimi Norwood sent it to me when we lost our baby.

And finally the rocking chair and a basket of Cottage Living magazines. I would love to find a wicker chair but the rocker will do for now. Well enough about the room, I sure wish someone would come and visit me and get to stay in it and enjoy it like I do.

Spring is coming...

Sunday when we got home from church I noticed these pretty flowers blooming on the side of our house. My tulips and daylilies are starting to come up and the grass is getting greener, I am so glad that winter is over. We are getting more rain today, we have been having alot of rain plus we had a lot of snow, it is making for a very wet spring. They should began planting in about two weeks but if it does not dry out it could keep them out of the fields for awhile. Please pray that everything goes well or else I could have a very grumpy husband. AAHH!!What do you think of my new fashions? I thought I would go back a "few" years and bring back so good styles. Not really. I am going to participate in the Midwest Old Threshers "Log Village" and you have to wear pioneer clothes, so I will be having someone make me this dress. I think it is going to be a lot of fun, Eric's Aunt DeRene and her kids and some other friends will be doing it too. I will keep you posted on the progress of the dress. Old Threshers is a lot of fun, check out the link. Come visit us and go see all there is to see. We would love to have you.

Life on the farm

Good beautiful Saturday morning to everyone. It is a bright sunny day and it is also warm Yeah! Life around here has not been to exciting lately but I will try to bring you up to date on what we have been up to.

Crystal, Melissa, Christie
Wednesday evening we went to the Quad Cities for the evening service of Missionary Convention. We had a nice time seeing all our family and friends.

Thursday Eric had to feed the cows for Grandad, Payton and I went with him. Payton was holding out her hands wanting to pet the cows, but alas they are not very tame. We had a nice time watching her and listening to all she had to say about them.
I thought this picture was cute. New life a wonderful sign that spring is here. Well I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.

All in a days work

Some days I feel like I have been through a tornado and hurricane all rolled into one. Today Payton was her usual whirlwind self, seeing what she could get into and then apologizing if she got caught. This morning I told her to come to me, well she ran away instead so I scolded her and told her that when I call she is supposed to come. Later I heard her playing and she was telling the toys "when I say come you better come, you hear me." I guess she was listening to me.

I think she is going to be a reader. I found her "reading" the comic paper. Well at least she found something interesting.
Here is the "bad weather" part of the day. She was very quietly reading book or so I thought and I guess she was, but she needed to get them all off the shelves in order to find the right one. OH Well I really do love her but some days she makes for a very long day. And to make the day even more eventful me little darling threw her plate of food on the floor. After getting in trouble I told her I was going to have to tell her mom, she very pitifully said "please don't tell my mommy." What a day, well I guess I better go rest up for tomorrow, when it will began all over again.
