Small Wonders Wednesday

As mentioned in my previous post we have been enjoying s'mores this summer.   Well that is thanks to a handy-dandy fire pot I learned how to make on Pinterest( where else do we find ideas).    We have talked about a fire pit and looked at them but we always talk ourselves out of one.    I ran across this idea on pinterest and knew this was the solution to our problems.
The idea I found was for table top fire pots,  I used the same idea only on a larger scale.   I took a terracotta flower pot I had, lined it with heavy duty foil added match light charcoal and Ta-Da a fire pot.   The nice thing was all I had to buy was the charcoal and it was on sale and had fuel saver discounts(Hy-Vee perks),  so it was a very cheap and easy project.    I do not have a great picture of it but I think you get the idea,  so nice when you don't want to spend a lot of money.    I am thinking about trying to find a bigger pot and see what would happen if you burned small pieces of wood in it,  so it would give off a little more heat.  This one is great for roasting things but it would be nice to have a little heat for some of our cool Iowa nights.   Well hoped you enjoyed seeing my little project,  I would love to know if you have been making any fun this summer.

Fantastic Friday

Good morning and Fantastic Friday to all of you.   It really is a good day for me since I am finally feeling better,  as you can tell I totally missed Wednesdays post.   I did not even realize it was Wednesday and I should have had a post until is was way too late and I did not even care.   So hope you all will forgive me for being human. :)
As you all know Mother's Day is fast approaching and I am in need of some fun and easy craft ideas to use for my Bible Club.   If any of you have a cute project you have made  or a link to something you think I might be able to use please let me know.  I think this sickness has fried my brain and I am drawing a blank when it comes to ideas.
I hope all of you have a Fantastic Friday and a wonderful fun filled weekend.

Finished Object...Welcome

I am loving having a nice front door to hang wreaths on.  I got the basic idea for this wreath from Pinterest and then just made it my on. Check out my "Door Love" board, I have pinned a lot of great door decoration ideas.(click on the Pinterest link above).   I also found the flower tutorial on there, they were extremely easy to make (will be making more.)  Well that is all for my finished object, I am linking up to the Charitree for her Finished Object Friday Party, check out they yummy looking cake she made.  :)

Finally finished...

After starting this quilted tree skirt two years ago it is finally finished. My Mother inlaw paid for me to take the class and make this tree skirt. I took the first class and then life happened and just a few weeks ago I had the chance to go back and finish it. Click on the pictures for a better look.
I had to cut all the pieces just the right way and sew them together just right. I decided I am not cut out to be a quilter, you have to follow the directions to closely.
I thought it turned out pretty nice and I got it done just in time to use under the tree this year.
For more finished objects go on over to the the Chari Tree and see what is happening over there.

All Girl...

Well Miss Piper has once again added to her dress collection. Everyday I stand in front of her closet and have a very hard time picking an outfit. She has so many cute clothes that makes it very difficult to choose one and she is growing so fast that some outfits she only wears a couple of times. I am having a blast dressing my little baby doll because I know in a few years she will want to pick out her own clothes and Mommy's opinion will not matter anymore.

"Give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair..." Look at all the hair bows for a little girl who has no hair. I have been having a great time making Piper bows and she does wear them on her headbands. I am considering starting an Etsy shop or something like that to try and sell some bows. What do you think, would it be a good idea or not? Please give me your opinion.

It was a lot of fun to work on and so easy, Thanks for the idea Brittany. Sorry the picture has a glare, I am not the greatest photographer. Hope everyone has a great weekend and thanks for stopping by to see my finished object.

And the winner is...

Good morning everyone. I know you are waiting patiently for me to announce the winner of the Christmas apron. Sorry I did not get up bright an early and draw the name but this little mama was tired. So now without further rambling I will tell you who the winner is------JULIE. Congratulations Julie, I hope this helps make you Christmas a little brighter. Julie please email me to claim your prize. To some of you bloggers who may not know, Julie's husband is a Marine and is deployed for several months, he will be gone over the holidays and I know this will be a difficult time for them both. Please keep them both in your prayers, I know they will appreciate it. I am so happy that I was able to do something that will bring a little bright spot into these lonely days. And a big Thank You to all who left comments, I loved reading each one. I had a great time doing this give away, maybe I will try it again sometime. Have a great weekend everyone.
P.S. I know some of you thought you were to late to join in but that was my mistake, it was supposed to say midnight Friday night. Sorry about the mix-up.

My finished objects...

Here are a couple of things I have finished recently, so I thought I would join Chari's Finished Object Friday. I started this card quite a while back and just a couple of weeks ago finished it in time for my Sister in-laws birthday. Click on it to get a better view. I know it is not the greatest but I am new to card making.

And here is an other project that I finally got done, a new bulletin board for my Juniors class. The kids will put their reward tickets in the cups and after a few weeks, they can take them out and "shop at the store." Well I am off to work on some more projects.

My finished object...FINALLY!

Well I barely made Chari's Finished Object Friday but I guess it is better late then not at all. I started making this apron a couple of weeks ago and just got it finished today, problems with the pattern and many other things. It is complete and now that I understand the pattern better hopefully the next ones will go easier, I am making them for Christmas gifts.
And now that he is three weeks old I finally have a picture of my nephew, Colter. It is not the best picture He did now want to look at Aunt Melissa and I could not get all the way down on the floor to his level. Well I guess I better call it a night, tomorrow is a busy day, Payton and Keegan are spending the night with us Saturday night.

Baby & Me

I saw the neat digital scrapbooking that Brittney did so I decided to try me hand at it. These pages were fun to do. Eric and I went outside and took some pictures yesterday after church. I had no idea what kind of pictures he would take but he did a really good job and I have some neat photos to go in the baby's album.

Scrapbooking...

Well I finally got inspired to start scrapbooking again. Here are a few of the pages that I have done in the last week.
These are all pictures from 2006 or before but I had idea's for these
pages so I thought I'd better do them.

This page turned out perfect. If you click on it you can see the detail

better.

These pictures are not the best, they are from 1992. What can you expect, a kid with a camera.

Staying at home...

We had another snow storm last night so Kim and I were not able to go to the Quad Cities for Jessica's baby shower. I spent the day not doing much of anything but I did get one scrapbook page done. At the rate I am going we will be married ten years before I get it all done. Oh well, I guess all that matters it that I get it done.

Looking better...

Look at the mess. Yesterday we decided to use a bookcase that my parents gave us, since I have not found the one I want for my office/scraproom. So then began the task of organizing and deciding what stuff went in which basket. (Thanks to my mother inlaw for the baskets.) Anyway I worked on it all afternoon and evening(chuch was cancelled because of the weather).
This is the top shelf, my Cricut cartridges and makers are in this basket.
Here are the other two shelves the bigger basket is full of ribbon and the others are filled with little stuff, paper clips, brads and such. I think it is coming together nicely. I will post more pictures when I get the rest of the room done.

Here it is...

On Saturday I showed a project that I was going to try, well I got them done yesterday. I am going to hang them in my scrapbook room with the words "Just" above them but I have to get the vinyl to make the other word. So tell me what you think, I think they look really fun and girly. Just the way we like things.
Well I guess I will see what else I can do today. Payton left early because we are having a winter storm, it is snowing like crazy.

It is finished...

Here are pictures of each letter and what each one
of them says. I think they turned out so cute.
Inspire
Dream
Memories-Friends are forever
Believe
I love you- Imagine

Trying to scrapbook again...

Well I finally started scrapbooking again. All my stuff was in our basement, not in the best spot to be used, so I moved it into our office and I have actually started to use it. Now maybe I will get our wedding done.

This is Payton relaxing in the hammock, I just love this picture, it just says "summer."
Here is my dress fitting. Oh if I could only fit into that dress again.

What does a Cricut do?

This is what my Cricut cutter can do, make all the letters for my bulletin boards. I love my cutter it made the job so easy, no more cutting letters our with scissors. I just wish it could have cut out the snowflakes too. Thanks Eric and Dad for getting me the cutter I love it.

Everyday life.

Well, just wanted to tell everyone thanks for their vote of confidence on the dishcloth. I started another one tonight but I am not using a pattern, so it could be very exciting.
This morning I had to go to the bank and the minute we walked up to the counter Payton started asking for stickers(the don't give candy. Thank goodness!) Well after the lady gave her stickers, she started asking about doughnuts. I don't know what that had to do with the bank but it gave the employees a laugh. Another funny thing that happened today was right after lunch, Payton got a little to wound up which is not good, her tummy can't handle bouncing and running after eating. Well to make a long story short Eric was lying on the living room floor and she came running up and threw up on his back. :( Eric kinda freaked out, I could not get it cleaned up fast enough for him. After we had cleaned the floor and Eric changed shirts; Payton went to him and gave him a hug and said "I'm sorry I pukied on you." Needless to say we will not be playing hard after lunch anymore. Sorry for the gross story but it was so funny because Eric about went crazy and Payton was so sorry that she did it.
Well I guess that's it for now until the next exciting thing happens in our house.
