Small Wonders Wednesday

Ladies and Gentlemen,  I just want to tell you about one of my favorite places to shop for baby stuff (and you know with two you need lots of stuff).    As many of you know we live in small town Iowa,  and thus we have Wal-Mart and Hy-Vee to shop for baby items, food, etc.   And so the selection is very limited unless you drive 45min to an hour away for more stores.  With three kids to tote along I would rather shop at home and so I have been using Diapers.com,  this place is wonderful.   Everything you could need for your infant, toddler or older child ~ they have it.   The other thing to love about them is the fast shipping,  most items are to your door in two days and most items the price is pretty much the same as your local retail store.  Now how cool is that?    I have used them for swings(2), highchair, bibs, pacifier, cups (for Piper) and I don't remember what else.   It really has been a lifesaver for me.   So if you are in the market for baby items that you just can't find or you just don't want to get out and shop this is the place for you.

Shopping again...

Well here I am again to tell you about yet another shopping trip with my Mother in-law. I love her to death but when she shops she spends all day. Anyway yesterday we drove to Monmouth Illinois to pick up some pottery that she carries in the store. So while we were there we just made a day of it and did some shopping too and had a great lunch at a "new-old" soda shop, that was very nice. I did come home with some things, my favorite was this Vera Bradley Cookbook, it has some very yummy looking recipes and lots of neat pictures.

Maybe I should have a ladies get together and invite all my blogging friends and try some of these recipes.
Well I guess that is about all that is going on here, except that we got another inch of rain this morning but Eric was able to plant yesterday. I think almost all the corn is in but no beans as of yet, the way it keeps raining I think they should just plant rice.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I have to work at Kim's tomorrow and help get some ordering done, should be a pretty fun day.

I love a sale...

I just love it when Hobby Lobby has a sale on something I want. Yesterday I went to Burlington(which is about 45 min away), Hobby Lobby had several kinds of yarn on sale for 99 cents.

The black yarn was already on clearance, so I got it to make a scarf to go with my red coat. I just loved the green yarn I am thinking of making a purse out of it, the regular price on it is $5.88 but I got it for 99 cents. What a deal! The variegated yarn I am going to use to make some more baby things, I hope one of my friends has a boy, I have some great ideas for this. I also got this at 40% off by using a coupon. I think I did pretty good, got a lot of stuff for not a lot of money.

Some of the Easter item were on sale and this little bunny just "Hopped" into my buggy and said "take my home", so I did.

Well I am off to get my house ready for a Junior party I am having to night. 7 excited kids, what fun! I've got to make cupcakes and get the games ready and keep Payton out of trouble.

Thanks to all who had responded to who you are, I am glad to have all of you on board this blog. To Kim, I gave my MIL your email address. To Julie, thanks for stopping by and you really should start you own blog, we would love to keep up on your life.

Saturday's doings...

Can you believe it, my husband actually took most of the day off to go to used stores looking for a bookcase. I was so glad he went with me, although we did not find a bookcase. We did get him some work shirts and I found a Red purse. I also got somethings at Hobby Lobby to decorate my scrapbook room, now if I could find a bookcase we would be all set. Here is a little project I am going to attempt. I am showing you the before picture and when I get them done I will take another picture and let you see what you think about my creative abilities.

This is a cute plate that was 40% off, so I thought it would look good in the "new" room.

Great Deals!

We had a great time in Des Moines despite that the wind was blowing probably 30 or more miles an hour and the temp was 3 degrees. Kim and I dropped the guys off at the farm show and went to Michael's, after that the mall, where we stayed for the rest of the day. I got this really cute red wool coat, it was 75 % off and the boots were also on sale. I just love a good bargain. I did buy Eric a present, a toaster oven. He actually thought it was neat, tried it out when we got home. Thanks Merlin and Kim for taking us and for the wonderful supper at Outback, the shrimp and cheesecake were delicious.

Isn't the coat a great color.
I am going to try to make a baby bib. The pattern sounds simple
enough. The yarn is so soft and the color is perfect for a baby girl.

I'm going shopping...

I sound excited don't I? Well I am, We meaning Eric and I, Kim and Merlin are going to Des Moines in the morning. The guys are going to a huge farm show and us girls are going shopping. I am hoping to find lots of good bargains, I don't really need anything but it is always fun to look. Today I got some sad news, my cousin Christie Larson found out today that she lost her baby. She went for here eighteen week check-up and found out she had lost it. I wish you would pray for her and her husband Mike. I know they would appreciate it. I know we sure did when we experienced our loss.

Shopping again...

Well I've been at it again. Yesterday I cleaned my house so today I could go play. I had a good time spending my gift cards and also buying scrapbook stuff, now maybe I will get our wedding pics done. Isn't this little dress and sweater adorable? I got them for Dustin and Jessica Dodd baby, who will be arriving in April. It was such a great deal I could not pass them up, 70% off the clearance price. ;) Well anyway I had a great time and now I am going to go scrapbook. Hope you all have a good weekend.

What to post...?

Here are a few Christmas Pictures. They are not the greatest. Notice my knitting basket on the chair. The Piano and Payton's time out chair.
This is in my entryway.

Well I don't really have that much to say today except that we are still alive and kicking up here in the cold state of Iowa. The temp never got above 40 today and the wind was blowing, brr. This evening Eric had a chiropractor appointment in Ottummwa, so I went with him and we got a present for his dad and we went out for supper. I love it when I don't have to cook. I don't have to many more presents to buy and the ones I have to buy for are easy, so I am extremely happy. Well maybe I will have more exciting news for my many readers tomorrow.

What have I been up to?

Well I am back everyone, well I didn't actually go any where I just have not posted in few days. Saturday I went to a craft show, I found Christmas presents for my mother in-law and my sister in-law. That is such a relief, since my mother in-law can be hard to buy for. Can you believe it, I shopped the whole day and only can home with some cinnamon-orange tea bags for myself(for when I curl up and read a book or work on craft projects). I did buy Eric a bag of Kettle corn and he was very happy. Well anyway I guess that's all there is to post right now. I need to go clean my house and do ironing, my parents are coming on Saturday and I need to have everything in order. It really makes my get to work knowing someone is coming(don't won't Mom to see the junk in the closets.)

Shopped and Dropped

Well today I went to Iowa City and went shopping, all by myself. I wish some of y'all could have joined me, it would have been alot more enjoyable. Anyway I went to Iowa City which is about an hour away, I found some shirts for Eric and also a few things for myself and a birthday present for my sister in-law. After I got home this evening Eric, Merlin and I went to church for work night, they are painting the rent house the church owns. I mostly just supervised and made sure everybody else got their work done. Just Kidding!
I am very sad right now my tiger stripped kitten (Tibby)had been missing for two days now. I was getting pretty attached to the two kitten and then one up and disappears. I told Eric that I prayed she would come back and he laughed and asked if I thought God would just drop her on the front porch. Well He could if He wanted too. :)
By the way my laundry room is coming along nicely. I'll post pictures when I get it finished.

Shopped & Dropped

Well we got home from Kansas City this night. We had a great time, we ordered some very cute Christmas & winter shirts, sweatshirts. Some lighter weight jackets to wear with jean or khaki and some other cute shirts. We also got some watches. So if anyone needs something new to wear I know just where you can get it. We did have a very nice time, but it is good to be home I know it was only one night but I still missed my husband. :) I will post some pictures of Kim's store soon.
