Life with these two...never dull!

One of Brenna's favorite "toys" is a pop up laundry hamper from the Dollar Tree...can we say cheap fun.
And now we find Blake in the "junk bucket" (used to hold items that cannot be burned).
Somebody was thirsty and Piper's juice just happened to be left on the table.
Brenna loves her some Veggie Straws...Yummy!
And of course we have bumps and bruises...what, you mean you don't dive out of the chair head first into a basket of toys?

Sights of summer

My first tomato's and bell pepper of the year, my mouth is watering just looking at them. Don't you just love all the sights and (most) smells that accompany summer? Fresh fruits and veggies, freshly mowed lawns and oh so much more.

Fresh flowers for the garden.

And especially fresh squeezed lemonade, Oh so refreshing.

Fresh green beans, frozen to be enjoyed during those long days of winter...when we need some summer sunshine. I hope you are enjoying summer as much as we are, slow down and enjoy it.

Fair Fun

This last week we ventured out to the fair several times, we had a great time visiting with friends, eating corndogs and funnels cakes and of course seeing the animals.
Piper was "dressed" and ready to go, wearing a shirt she won at the fair and her cowboy boots that used to be Paytons.
Piper and some little guy tearing it up on the dance floor. This little boy came over and asked her if she wanted to dance and of course she did.
Miss Piper and our friend Sabrina on top of the sawdust pile. We are planning on an other good week, my sister inlaw and little boy are coming to town, tractor pull Saturday, 4th of July and vacation next week, can you tell we love summer?

My helper

Miss Piper loves helping Mommy, especially doing "dishers." Mostly this consist of what she calls cooking, stirring the dirty dish water.
Some days I want to say "just let Mommy do the dishes by herself," and then I think about how I prayed for this little girl to be born. Being a Mommy is a very hard but also very rewarding job, I would not trade the job for anything.
Oh, if you need your dishers washed or your mirrors cleaned(spit on them, then wipe clean) Piper is available.

Parade Time

We went to Birmingham Homecoming Days parade today. Eric paraded the 1206 Wheatland and Piper and I had fun seeing all the tractors, firetrucks and horses in the parade.

There's my honey.

Just hanging out waiting for the parade to start.
Miss Piper rode with Daddy for awhile in the parade.
Look how things change in a year. I took this at the same parade last year, my baby is growing too fast.

Still alive!

We are still alive here on the farm but they way things have been going this week I was beginning to wonder. Miss Piper started running a high fever Monday night so we went to the Dr. on Tuesday, she had a sore throat. Wednesday still high fever and she would hardly eat or drink, Thursday evening we went to the ER only to discover that she now had double ear infection and the first medicine was not helping her at all. She is now on something different and is beginning to act like herself. So if you have ever had or been around a sick baby you get nothing done, thus the absence of post.
Laying on Dad, he makes a great pillow.

Sisters forever (although not related)

Entertaining herself while Mom washed dishes. It is great fun banging on the stove.

Isn't that a cute little tractor? Eric was so sweet and till up a flower bed for me.
Hope this is enough pictures Modge. Sure hope everyone has a great weekend and a wonderful Sunday in the Lord.

Country livin'

Just a peek at what has been happening here on the farm. Well the days are getting warmer (80* the last 2 days) and that means I get to use my clothesline. Today was so windy that by the time you got the last item hung the first was almost dry. Now that is windy.
My sweet baby girl just loves to play outside, she is a real country girl.

My Cherry tree is in bloom, it always makes me think of my very special friend Chari. Love you girl!
My sweetheart hard at work, sure do love that guy. Well I hope each on of you is a great week and enjoying beautiful spring weather wherever you may roam.

Little bit of life...

Just a few pictures of what has been going on here. Eric left me a message on my chalk board, Of course I thought it was very sweet.
I went to my first estate auction last Saturday, they had lots of junk and a few "treasures."
Piper playing with someones puppy at the auction. I am trying to convince Eric that we need one.

Sleeping is always better if you have your baby doll.
I hope everyone has a great Easter weekend and don't forget why we have Easter. Thank You God for giving your Son, because of it we can live forever.

Picture update...

Piper enjoying the outdoors, while Mommy & Daddy mow and pretty up the yard.
Here are a few random picture of what has been happening around the homeplace. Nothing too exciting, unless you call rain almost everyday exciting. Please help us pray that the rain will stop and the fields will dry up, we still have about 600 acres of soybeans left to plant and it is getting pretty late in the season for planting.

Mommy & her Sweetheart.

Showing off the outfit that my Aunt Cheryl Robinson got me.
Thank You so much, I really look cute in it.

We took Piper to her first parade today, the small town of Birmingham, IA had there annual Homecoming Days parade. The above picture is a friend of ours Corey (his Dad works at the farm) he fixed this tractor up for a 4H project.
Eric took and 1206 Wheatland and drove it in the parade, it is newly painted and fixed up.
This is a friend of ours Mike and his nephew on Mike's green tractor, still working on him to get a red one.
Miss Piper was enjoying watching all the action, tractors and kids jumping around trying to get some candy. She acted like she was having a great time.
Enjoying time with her cousin Aaron Blauvelt from Arizona. We had a great time at the Homecoming Days just hanging out and having family time. Hope all of you have a wonderful Fathers Day.

Around our house...

Well not much exciting has been going on around our house except that Eric got a nasty cold and I got the stomach flu. I was very thankful it only lasted a day, I was one sick girl. On to better topics, we had Christmas with Eric's parents, sister and brother in-law Friday night, we had a good time and came home with lots of presents. Not much is going on this week except the church is holding a baby shower for me on Friday night, I will try to get someone to take pictures for me and get them posted as soon as possible. Friday when I went to my Dr. appointment he said I had a lot of work to do before the baby came, I was not to happy to hear that. I wanted to hear that things were moving right along, oh well I guess I still have four week until my due date. What's the rush? Well just wanted to let everyone know that I am still alive, I just have not felt like posting much lately. Until next time!!!

Ladybug, Ladybug fly away home...

I used to think ladybugs were cute little insects but that is until I spent a fall in Iowa. Every fall they invade our house, yesterday was no exception. It was a very beautiful day the weather was about 60 degrees, the sun was shining and someone was combining bean across the road from us.
When I went outside late in the afternoon this is the sight I saw, a polka dot house. I could not even leave my storm door open to let sunlight in cause they were just coming in a making themselves at home.
Well anyway that is the joys of living in the country. All we need are a couple of good cold days and nights and the problem will pretty well be taken care of. Hope everyone has a good rest of the week. I am off to town and then to get busy making some more Christmas presents that need to be completed by Monday.

I ordered it...

Thanks for every ones advice on a camera. After much reading and comparing we finally made the decision to buy a Canon ELPH. I ordered it yesterday, Matt said the company ships very fast so am hoping to have it before the weekend is over. I've got to get to reading the manual and learning how to operate the new hi-tech equipment before the first week of November. I am taking a little trip that week, I will give you more details as the time gets closer. Well I am off to work on more Christmas gifts. P.S. Thank you for my Mom's birthday greetings, I know she enjoyed reading each one.

Mom and the kitchen redo...

I have been having too much fun to blog the last few days. First of all I am now an Aunt, Eric's sister Ashley had her baby boy at 5:49 am Thursday morning. His name is Colter Micah and he is a beautiful baby. Sorry no pictures I forgot the camera.
Second reason for not blogging is my Mom came on Tuesday and we have been going full speed ever since. Wednesday we babysat the kids and Payton had lots of fun with Junee.

Trying to take a nap.
And here is the other thing we have been doing repainting my kitchen. It had been just plain white and decorated in kinda of Retro stuff. I decided it was time for a change and I wanted a more "sophisticated" look, so we went and picked out paint "Split Pea Soup" the name is not a joke. We are almost done with the painting and then the redecorating will begin. I will post pictures as soon as all it looking in order again.
Just had to throw this cute picture of my kitten on here. I thought she looked real cute next to my new mums. Well hope everyone is having a great week and I will post more updates soon.
