Capturing December ~ Day 10
Tuesday night we hosted a "Happy Birthday Jesus" party for our Bible Club children. We had a good time and pray we are getting the message of the real meaning of Christmas across to these children.

Fantastic Friday
Hello Friday. Don't you just love the weekend? This week has been a busy one for us, I have been in charge of crafts for our church VBS and helping supervise a room full of preschoolers armed with green paint(scary). My nephew is here visiting so there have been play times and also a visit to the county fair and another visit on schedule for tomorrow. Very busy but also very Fun, isn't that what summer is all about?
Having fun with frog crafts at VBS. The theme is Fully Rely On God or FROG.
You cannot go to the fair and not have some good ole fair food, taking a break from watching the tough truck competition.
I hope you all are having a wonderful summer and have a Fantastic Friday.

Day's of Christmas...Day 8

Well I got behind on my day's of Christmas but I do have an excuse Prenatal Classes. Sunday afternoon we went to our first class and then back again last night and again next Sunday and Monday. They usually spread it out over a whole month but with the holiday's they are cramming it all into four sessions. We are glad we decided to attend, we have learned many things already. I really meant to have the picture posted first thing this morning but I did not sleep very much last night because of a headache, I did not get around to my photo duties. Well this little Mama better get off the computer and get some lunch for Eric and then get my dishes made for our Church supper tonight. Hopefully we make it there it rained yesterday evening and during the night and then the temp has dropped, so we now have ice and it it supposed to snow this afternoon.

My finished objects...
Here are a couple of things I have finished recently, so I thought I would join Chari's Finished Object Friday. I started this card quite a while back and just a couple of weeks ago finished it in time for my Sister in-laws birthday. Click on it to get a better view. I know it is not the greatest but I am new to card making.

Join in and make a difference...

Every year the Juniors class at church does a special project at Christmas time, sometimes it has been buying something for a missionary child or taking a name of the Angel Tree at the mall and buying gift for a child we did not even know. This year I decided to have them join in
Operation Christmas Child, it is done by Franklin Graham's foundation Samaritans purse. If anyone is wanting to do something good for a child or to help to your children learn it is better to give than to receive I urge you to join in this cause. All you do it fill a shoe box with small toys, school supplies and personal hygiene items and $7.oo to help cover shipping. I know some of you are thinking it is to early to start thinking about Christmas but it is never to early to start helping others. For more information about drop off locations and times or just more information follow the like highlighted above and click on the link Operation Christmas Child. It would be great to hear if anyone else is going to send a box, I will be posting pictures of the Juniors children and their boxes just as soon as they get them packed.

Hayride, Flowers & Payton...
Here are a few pictures of our annual church hayride. The weather was perfect this year, warm in the afternoon and then cooler when the sun went down. Some years have been absolutely miserable because of the cold.
Here is Eric trying his had at "burning" hotdogs. Not really, his didn't look very cooked at all.
Benjamin (our Pastors little boy) wanted to try bobbing for apples like the big kids.
Yesterday Eric and Payton went out to get the mail, when they came back they brought me these pretty yellow flowers. Thank You, I love both of you.
Does anyone need their car cleaned? Here is a pretty little girl to clean it for you. We went to the shop the other day and her car needed to be cleaned off before she could play in it. She of course had a great time cleaning it and riding all around.

Quick update
I will give everyone a brief update on what is going on around here and I will post some pictures later. Yesterday evening we started VBS, the first night went very well, the kids were so good and we had no trouble makers. I am doing the crafts for the 4,5 and 6 year olds, the are alot of fun. Pray that we have a successful VBS and get some new families coming to church.
Another exciting thing is that is has not rained since Thursday! YEAH! Eric was able to start planting beans today. This is wonderful and we sure hope the nice dry weather continues. Bye for now.

Juniors Party
Well we survived the party. The kids seemed to have a good time eating pizza and cupcakes and playing games. Thanks to Eric for helping me cook the pizza and play the games. Eric helped by putting the pizza's in the oven, what I did not know until I tried to cut the pizza was that he forgot to take the cardboard off the bottom of two pizza's, the pizza was fine and the kids got a good laugh from it.

I love a sale...
I just love it when Hobby Lobby has a sale on something I want. Yesterday I went to Burlington(which is about 45 min away), Hobby Lobby had several kinds of yarn on sale for 99 cents.

The black yarn was already on clearance, so I got it to make a scarf to go with my red coat. I just loved the green yarn I am thinking of making a purse out of it, the regular price on it is $5.88 but I got it for 99 cents. What a deal! The variegated yarn I am going to use to make some more baby things, I hope one of my friends has a boy, I have some great ideas for this. I also got this at 40% off by using a coupon. I think I did pretty good, got a lot of stuff for not a lot of money.

Some of the Easter item were on sale and this little bunny just "Hopped" into my buggy and said "take my home", so I did.
Well I am off to get my house ready for a Junior party I am having to night. 7 excited kids, what fun! I've got to make cupcakes and get the games ready and keep Payton out of trouble.
Thanks to all who had responded to who you are, I am glad to have all of you on board this blog. To Kim, I gave my MIL your email address. To Julie, thanks for stopping by and you really should start you own blog, we would love to keep up on your life.

Christmas Program
Well here I am as Grandma. Last night was our Christmas program and it went very well
the children did all of their parts perfect. Grandma forgot to say a line but no one knew.
How do you like my "powder gray" hair and the glasses on my nose?
Here I am with my "grandchildren", we are singing
"Come on Ring Those Bells". Then I began telling them the
Christmas story and we went back in time to the stable.
"We Wish You a Merry Christmas." It ended up being a very good Christmas program.

Whine,Whine, Whine...
That is what I heard all morning. Payton was sick and didn't want to do anything but whine and fuss. I finally got her interested in "wrapping presents", I got mine all wrapped. :) Well, need to go straighten up my house and fold laundry before we go to our church Christmas dinner tonight. I made a Lemon Jello cake and Green bean casserole, I sure hope it all gets eaten. We are going to play the White Elephant gift game, that should be fun. If I come home with some "good" stuff I will bring it for your game Mom. By the way practice went very well the kids are doing so good.

Grandma is getting ready...
Come one, come all and see me be a Grandma in our Christmas program. We are having our final practice tonight, I hope I can remember my lines. The children are doing really well with their parts but "Grandma" is having a hard time remembering what to say. Well I guess I'd better go memorize some more. I will take some pictures of practice tonight and Eric will man the camera Sunday night. Hope some will turn out.

Sledding,Practice & Purple Ribbons...
Come go sledding with me. Eric tried to make a snowman
yesterday but the snow would not pack. So he scraped the
drive way while I sledded down our back hill. I had fun but
it would have been better if some of you were here to join me.
Last night we had our first "acting" Christmas program practice.
The kid's did very well, despite the fact that our Joseph was not
there. And me "Grandma" went blank and could not remember my
lines for a song. Oh well, I guess I am just getting old and cannot
memorize as well anymore.
the gingerbread houses. They gave out awards last night and
mine got a Honorable Mention. I thought that was good since
it was my first time.
Well I need to get off here and get something done in my house, its
a mess. :) This evening we are going to a live animal play. Everyone says
it is really great. I sure hope so.
