Finished Object Friday

Don't you just love burlap?  I am finding so many uses for it, like this cute little sign I made.  I was needing something for a kitchen corner and was inspired to make this.  Picture frame, burlap and designs cut out with a cricut, so easy and cute.  I am joining Chari's Finished Object Friday, go over and see the cute pillowcases she made for Christmas gifts.  I can personally vouch for their cuteness since Miss Piper received one from Auntie Chari.  She loves it by the way.
Stay tuned for an AMAZING kitchen makeover, pictures coming later today.

Finished Object Friday~Advent Bags

I have always thought Advent calendars were such a neat idea and now that we have a little one I knew I had to do one.  After much looking on Pintrest (very addicting), I used ideas I had found and added a little of my own creativity.  I cut burlap into the size bags I wanted and stitched them up, leaving the top open.
I then hung them on red ric-rac from the stair rail in our kitchen.  My husband walked in one night and said "they are too plain" and thus the embellishments.  They are so cute now!  Piper is enjoying opening them, so have treats inside, others have note with an activity we are going to do.
So what have you been making lately?  Link up with Chari  for her Finished Object Friday party.

Finished Object Friday

Wow, Finished Object Friday again, where does time go? I am loving my finished object this week, the cute table above it the latest project. I found the table at the Goodwill and knew that it had potential. As you can see from the last photo it was not a beauty but some good sanding a few coats of white paint and stripes and now it matches my newly redecorated living room very well. As for making the stripes I measured a little, eyeballed a little and Ta-Da, I have stripes.
How do you like what I have done over the couch? I am thinking I need either blue garland or maybe just some green garland mixed with the white pearl garland. I am loving the oversized prints of Piper.
Here is a before of the table, beautiful right. I am joining in on Chari's Finished Object Friday, check out the cute cake she made.

Fishished Object Friday...The chair

Wow, I finally have finished object. I have to many objects I want to have finished but never seem to get them done, they are all so cute in my mind. Anyway back to my chair, I am borrowing a desk and chair from my Mother inlaw ( it was her mothers) and as you can tell the chair was not too beautiful or comfy, so I helped it out a little. I would love to paint it but this will have to do for now.
I removed the seat and covered it with about four layers of quilt batting (so my seat would be comfy on this seat) and them I measured out how much fabric I needed to cover all that puffiness. I then tried my hand at iron on vinyl, I believe I am going to like it. Now juice spills, sticky sucker, snotty noses, etc, etc can be wiped off.
So there you have it folks and easy chair redo, now if I can find my scrapbook desk under all the piles of "craft stuff", I will try out new chair. I am joining Chari at the Chari Tree for Finished Object Friday, go on over and see the chair she finished this week.

Finished Object Friday

I am loving my finished object, a skirt and hair accessory for Piper. I am pretty proud of myself for making the skirt with no pattern, just cut, measured and sewed. Turned out pretty cute I think, now to get her to stand still enough for a picture in it. Chari at The Chari Tree has a great fished object, I believe I will get the items and make some myself. To see what her finished object is you will just have to go over there and take a peek.

Chalk board-FOF

This wall in the kitchen was driving me crazy, so what did I do? I started painting!
Last year I went to an auction and ended up with a few mirrors that I did not know what to do with, with a few coats of chalk board paint we now have a memo board in the kitchen.
Now I am going to be on the look out for a envelope type box to hang beside it, don't you think that will look good. I am joining Chari's Finished Object Friday over at the Chari Tree, check out the cute cookies she made.

Finished Object Friday

Well someone in our house is turning 2 this month, can you believe it. We have decided to go the a Winnie the Pooh theme and since I did not care for the invitations that matched the plates and napkins we ordered I made my own. First I found a picture of pooh on the Internet and copied, traced, copied some more, cut and glued, well you get the picture. It took sometime but I just love how they turned out, so bright and cheerful just like the munchkins who is having the birthday.

Finished Object Friday

I finally have a finished object, Hooray for me. I had a great fun making this felt flower hair clip for Miss Piper. I cut out flowers in two sizes with my Cricut machine and used them for a template to cut the felt, free handed the leaf, attached a button and Ta-Da! So easy and so cute. Now to get a picture of it in her hair.

Finished Object for Piper

I can't believe it I actually have a finished object this week, yeah, for me. We were in Wal-Mart this past week and as I was looking for supplies for my Junior's class, Miss Piper spied the "Dora" fabric. And as the wonderful Mommy I am I bought a yard of it to make her a pillow case. She loves anything "Doda"( Pipers pronunciation), I now have a very happy little girl. I know this is not the greatest photo of the object but I believe all of you readers know what a pillow case looks like, so just use your imagination and think "Dora the Explorer" with pink ric-rac around the edge. If you want to see more adorable finished object go on over to the Chari Tree and check them out.

Come sit a spell...FOF

Come sit in our backyard and enjoy some great Iowa weather. Awhile back I gave you a sneak peek of some spray paint colors, well what do you think of the finished product? I am loving my chairs, I actually have two more to do but they are going to need lots of TLC!
I saw this old spool in the shed across from our house and begged my husband to bring is home, I knew I could use it. It is just the right size for Piper to use as a table, now to find a umbrella to stick in the middle of it. Well thanks for stopping by to see my FOF, for more great Finished Objects go over to the Chari Tree and check them out.

Finished Object for a dollar

Don't you just love to get something for pretty much nothing? Well the above picture is of the nightstand in the guest room, OK but not just "it".
Well about a month ago we went to an auction and I got this steal of a deal. The above pile of mirrors, desk and cute chest for just a buck. The moment I laid eyes of it I knew it could turn into something cute.
So after some cleaning and spray paint and Miss Piper helping do a little sanding, I now have a cute nightstand.
I am still looking for some handles for the drawers but I do believe it is an improvement over the other table. Thanks for stopping by the farmgirl report, for more Finished objects go over the the Chari Tree.

Finished Object Friday

I am so proud of myself for coming up with this idea, it turned out pretty good. I had a beautiful picture above the couch in red, gold and such, beautiful picture but wanted something less heavy for spring and summer. And so Ta-Da, a little bit of spray paint and a few holes in the walls (it is not easy getting those things straight) now I have a great new look for the season.
Go on over to the Chari Tree and see what cute things she has been crafting.

My bedroom...Finished Object

I am loving my finished object, my bedroom is finally looking the way I want it. My sweet husband let me order the quilt for my birthday, he thought this was great cause he did not have to shop. So when my Mom was here we set to work redecorating and spray painting. I wanted a small table for Eric's side of the bed but all the ones I looked at were out of my price range until we went to the Goodwill and found this one for $12.99. Now let me tell you it was not the most beautiful thing you have ever laid eyes on but I knew a good coat of spray paint would make it work and now I have the perfect side table. The shelf on the wall also go a good coat of paint, it is amazing how it changes the looks of stuff.
I found this wonderful little tea for one pot for next to nothing and knew it would look great in my room. I decided Eric's catch all box need updating and so off to the paint station it went, looks great now.
After a trip to Joann's and Hobby Lobby the room is almost complete. Don't you just love the bouquet of flowers, they don't need watered, Yeah. Well I hope all of you enjoyed my finished object this week, I know I sure am. For more great finished objects stop by the Chari Tree.

Finished Object Friday

Don't you just love aprons that have a story behind them. When my Mom visited a few months ago she bought me this fabric and trim, it belonged to my Mimi Norwood who no longer wanted it. Well to make a long story short I made Mimi an apron for Christmas out of her own fabric once I heard "its" story.
The fabric was a flour sack from when Mimi was a little girl and the trim was crochet by Grandma Barker(some of you know who she was). The trim was originally supposed to go around a pillow case but I thought it was just the right touch for this apron and what better way to combine two very special items. I just love the way it turned out and I know Mimi will love it.
By the way if anyone is reading this that talks to Mimi, SSHH, its a surprise.

My office/craft room needed a little Christmas cheer so I quickly transformed this canvas into a simple decoration. I think Piper's picture add to the cheerfulness of it, she is so merry and "silly". Go over to the Chari Tree to see her Christmas finished object, and the links to others great fof's.

Finally finished...

After starting this quilted tree skirt two years ago it is finally finished. My Mother inlaw paid for me to take the class and make this tree skirt. I took the first class and then life happened and just a few weeks ago I had the chance to go back and finish it. Click on the pictures for a better look.
I had to cut all the pieces just the right way and sew them together just right. I decided I am not cut out to be a quilter, you have to follow the directions to closely.
I thought it turned out pretty nice and I got it done just in time to use under the tree this year.

My finally FOF!

Many months ago I told you I was redoing the bathroom, well what do you know it is finally done. The above picture gives you an idea of what it did look like, I was babysitting the day they worked on it and forgot to get any better photos. We got ceramic tile, new cabinet with double sinks and a new toilet.
I went with hot pink and black for my color scheme and I love it.
I had these plates laying around and decided they needed a face lift, so I cut out a few flowers on Provo craft vinyl with my handy dandy cricut cutter. Tada, a new look.
I also cut out the letters for this wall and spray painted this cute bicycle.

The curtains were a shower curtain I found at Goodwill and Mom found the pink and
black trim. Hope you enjoyed my finished object, I sure am. Go on over to the Chari Tree
for more cute finished objects.
