Finished Object for Baby...

Our baby now has a bib made by Mommy(I just love that name). I have been working on this bib for a while now and just this last weekend sat down and finished it. I thought the bear made a great prop. He was very cooperative. Hurry right over to Chari's blog to see her Finished Object(so cute) and maybe see a few more, we would love to have some of you other bloggers join in and show us more of your finished objects.

It is hard to see but the button is a little white star, I wanted a turtle but could not find one I liked. Now I need to decide what to do with the rest of the yarn, a hat, burb cloth or does anyone have an idea? It needs to be easy because I am not an expert yet. Well hope you enjoyed seeing my FOF. I have to go to the Dr. today so I will update about how baby and I are doing later.

Knitting for baby...

Here is the finished burp cloth and bib for Jessica Dodd's baby shower. I found a pattern for a flower and thought it would be a nice touch for the burb cloth, goes good with the button on the bib(a little flower). In my opinion they turned out very cute, I am really enjoying teaching myself how to knit. Guess you'll have to wait and see what I creat next.

Happy Presidents Day

Let us take sometime today to pray for our president, that God will help him and give him strength to lead our nation. His job is one I do not envy.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I know I did, I did not do much of anything Saturday except knit and hang a shelf. It was so nice to just take a day and relax. But I know I will have to get back to work this week since I will have Payton most of the week. I finished knitting the burp cloth and bib, I just need to get a button for the bib and it will be completed. They both turned out really nice, will post pics later. Sunday it rained some and then when we were at church it began snowing, it snow all afternoon and the wind was blowing very hard. So church was canceled and so we went over to Mom & Dad Millers and had supper with them and Aaron & Ashely(Eric's sister & brother in-law). We had a good time and a relaxing afternoon.

Great Deals!

We had a great time in Des Moines despite that the wind was blowing probably 30 or more miles an hour and the temp was 3 degrees. Kim and I dropped the guys off at the farm show and went to Michael's, after that the mall, where we stayed for the rest of the day. I got this really cute red wool coat, it was 75 % off and the boots were also on sale. I just love a good bargain. I did buy Eric a present, a toaster oven. He actually thought it was neat, tried it out when we got home. Thanks Merlin and Kim for taking us and for the wonderful supper at Outback, the shrimp and cheesecake were delicious.

Isn't the coat a great color.
I am going to try to make a baby bib. The pattern sounds simple
enough. The yarn is so soft and the color is perfect for a baby girl.

The dishcloth...

Here is the sad story of the early life of a dishcloth. It's life began a few days ago, in the beginning it was very healthy, it had all of it's stitches on each row. But then it's very neglectful mother began to loss some of it's stitches and the poor little dishcloth became more rounded and tapered everyday. And so the mother will be punished by having to rip out the stitches and began again and hopefully the next dishcloth will make it out of infancy and grow to be a very useful in the kitchen. The end.

I hope you have enjoyed the story of our dear dishcloth. Stay tuned I am sure more knitting stories will follow. :)

All is quiet

Oh how very sad, Mom and Dad left this morning. I was very happy to have them come and visit but time just goes by too fast. We did have a great time together, yesterday Eric was finally feeling some better and went to work. Dad went also and drove the tractor an auger wagon, he loves to do that. Mom and I did some more shopping, not a marathon shopping trip though because I think I am getting what Eric had. YUCK!! Well anyway it was great to have my parents here but now it is time to get my house straighted up again or just lay on the couch. I'm thinking the latter is a better idea. I bough some cotton yarn and am going to try to make a dishcloth. Wish me lots of luck.
